A Message from the Executive Director

It was the summer of 1984. Betty and I were scheduled to fly to NYC for a conference and our oldest son was going to Covenant Acres Summer Camp. It was his first summer camp experience, and ours. We arrived at the camp with sleeping bag, pillow, towels, and great anticipation. Tamarack Lodge was where the offices were, the infirmary, the snack shop, the dining hall, the kitchen, the bathrooms and all of the activities. We were waiting eagerly to meet with the nurse and finish our registration. After we registered our son, we were sent down the path to a building that the boys stayed in. And with that... the first summer camp at Covenant Acres began.

25 years later, the boy's dorm is now the maintenance shop. Tamarack Lodge is used for activities for summer camp, retreats for groups, and campers stay in our Adirondack cabins. Cedar Hall is used for dining, Willow and Spruce Lodges are used for retreats and the "Journey" continues. Covenant Acres is now a Camp & Retreat Center.

As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, let's keep our focus on the mission we've been called to do: provide a place called Covenant Acres Camp and Retreat Center for all to strengthen and renew their faith in Jesus in a camp setting and to bring others to know Christ for the first time. If we do that, the "Journey" will continue for years to come.
